What’s going on here?  Too many Americans are winning at the French Open!

Men’s Singles-2nd round:

Wayne Odesnik wins in four sets over Hyung Taik-Lee.

Men’s Singles-1st round

John Isner and Vincent Spadea both lose in five sets.  Mardy Fish  and Bobby Reynolds both win in four sets.  Scoville Jenkins loses in four sets.  Robby Ginepri beats fellow American Donald Young in four sets.

Fish, Ginepri and Reynolds advance to the second round, while Odesnik cruises to the third round.  Don’t forget, James Blake is already in the second round as well.  Five American men in the second round!

Women’s Singles-2nd round:

Serena Williams dominates in straight sets to be the first American woman in the 3rd round.

1st round:

Bethanie Mattek beats fellow American Madison Brengle in three sets.  Jill Craybas loses in straight sets.  Vania King wins in three sets.

Four women and five men remain.  Things get much tougher now, though, for most of our Americans.  Can anyone survive until the weekend?
