Game 3-Stanley Cup Finals

If you were one of those who thought you would skip Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals because Detroit so dominated the first two games, then you made a mistake.  I almost skipped the game myself, but decided to catch the third period.  It was by far the most electric game of the series, and maybe the entire playoffs.  Pittsburgh came to play.  They were fiery, hard-hitting and fast.  They were faster, more physical and more offensive than the first two games, and for the first time, they looked like the Red Wings’ equals.

It was good timing for the Red Wings and Penguins to put on a show.  It was the first Finals game on NBC.  I don’t know if the great game will produce a great result in the ratings.  My hunch is that it won’t.  Maybe, though, there will be a buzz heading into Saturday night’s Game 4 on NBC.  I love Stanley Cup hockey, and I’m tired of hearing hockey get bashed by the “experts” who look at sports through the narrow vision of TV ratings.

So, congrats to the Pens.  They won a big game last night.  Game 4 is still a must-win for them.  This time, I’ll be watching from the start.
